Health Calculators
Health metrics are most useful when you know exactly how they were calculated and what they actually measure. A BMI number without context is almost meaningless. Knowing that it's derived from a WHO-standardized formula, understanding what range is considered healthy and why, and recognizing its limitations for certain body types — that's when the number becomes actionable.
The health calculators on ATNAX follow established clinical and scientific methodologies. BMI is calculated using the standard formula endorsed by the WHO and CDC. Body fat percentage uses the U.S. Navy circumference method, which is the most widely validated field measurement technique. Body frame size uses the wrist-to-height ratio with thresholds from published anthropometric research. Where a method has known limitations — and they all do — those are documented alongside the result.
These tools are useful for tracking trends over time, for getting a baseline before a conversation with a healthcare provider, or simply for satisfying curiosity with an accurate number. They are not diagnostic tools. If a result concerns you, the right next step is a conversation with a doctor or registered dietitian who can evaluate you as a complete person, not just a set of measurements.
